Igar Rinkevich: Kazulin may be released

As former lawyer of the political prisoner Alyaksandr Kazulin was informed at the Supreme Court,despite of the 19 May expiry date of giving reply to the supervised claim of the lawyers on the criminal case none of the deputy chairmen of the court signed the reply on 21 May.

In their appeals lawyers of the former presidential candidate Z.Garyachka and I. Rinkevich claim from chairman of the Supreme Court V.Sukala to annul the court sentence of A.Kazulin, termination of the case for non –criminal character of theactions he has been charged of and his release.

According to Igar Rinkevich, he was explained at the Supreme Court that the lack of time for consideration of the case and ,as it is said in the court, at he moment there are no deputy chairmen in the court.

When commenting the situation former lawyer of A. Kazulin remarked ”I think the case , its matter, is not complicated for its objective resolution by the highly professional judges of the Supreme Court. And a certain judge could have prepared the draft reply for signing by one of deputy chairmen of V.Sukala. The court procedure allows extension of the term of claim consideration but I think that as far as Kazulin’s case is concerned this extension is grounded by the authorities’ looking for a “ beautiful form” of his pre-release.
