Ihar Korsak detained for nuts and screws
KGB officers have detained “a suspect in malicious hooliganism” during the night concert on July 3-4. It is a 34-year-old Ihar Korsak.
Ihar Korsak’s mother-in-law Tatsyana Tsyatsyorkina told to Radio Svaboda that on July 3 all their family was in their summer cottage and was busy with construction. At 9 p.m. they returned to Minsk and were at home.
KGB officers came to Ihar’s apartment yesterday eventing and searched it. They found a packet with screws and nuts and rubber gloves there. Tatsyana Tsyatsyorkina informed that KGB was searching for information related to TNT in his computer, but nothing was found. The KGB officers seized the so-called “material evidence” and detained Ihar Korsak.
Ihar was interrogated in Kazlou Str. 4 (an office building of the National Security Institute). He managed to call his relatives and say that he is suspected in making an explosive device and taken to the remand prison for 3 days.
Ihar Korsak’s mother-in-law is indignant at the actions of the KGB officers. She believes that in any apartment one can find screws, nuts and rubber gloves. The woman said that earlier Ihar took an active part in the political life and was registered by law-enforcing agencies as an oppositionist.
