Dzyanis Dzyanisau Has Been Let Out on Bail

Today morning Vitsebsk regional prosecutor’s office has made a ruling to accept bail for a prisoner, a young activist Dzyanis Dzyanisau before the court, informs Radio Svaboda. Relatives and friends, journalists of independent mass media met him near the remand prison No. 2 in Vitsebsk. On Monday, April 9, relatives of Dzyanisau transferred Br 15.5 million to an account of Belarusbank.
The money has been collected by community. More than 100 persons have contributed money.

The investigation of the case is to be finished on April 16. After that documents are to be forwarded to the court of Kastrychnitski district of Vitsebsk. In case the court would find him guilty, the guy would face up to 3 years of imprisonment.

Dzyanis Dzyanisau was kept in the remand prison of Vitsebsk since February 16. He is charged with organising group actions violating public order. On June 18, 2006 a white-red-white flag appeared over one of the buildings in Vitsebsk. Graffiti and streamers with the word “Bunt” emerged in the city as well.
